Palo Alto Networks is a leading global cybersecurity company best known as an early pioneer of Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) technology. Founded in 2005, the company has expanded its portfolio to include endpoint protection, extended detection and response (XDR), SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, secure access service edge (SASE), and a broad array of security tools. While it has traditionally engaged with the identity security market indirectly through integrations and partnerships, this acquisition of CyberArk marks its formal entry into identity security.
