Herr Dr. Michael Tobias promovierte 1997, nach seinem Maschinenbaustudium an der RWTH Aachen, an dem Fraunhofer Institut für Produktionstechnologie im Bereich Qualitäts- und Prozessmanagement. Zum Ende der Promotionszeit stieg er als Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter bei der 1996 gegründeten P3 Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH ein. Nach den positiven Ergebnissen der Startphase wurde das Unternehmen durch die vier Gründer über die Automobilindustrie insbesondere in dem Luftfahrtsektor, dem Anlagenbau und insbesondere auch in dem durch Tobias verantworteten Feld der Telekommunikation konsequent und rasant weiterentwickelt.
Unter der Führung wurde in 2001 zusammen mit weiteren Partnern die P3 Solutions GmbH gegründet, die im Bereich „Engineering in der Telekommunikationsindustrie“ den inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt setzte. Dem folgte 2007 die „technologisch orientierte Managementberatung in der Telekommunikationsindustrie“ durch den Aufbau der P3 networks GmbH - beide Tochterunternehmen der P3 Ingenieurgesellschaft wurden 2009 zur P3 communications GmbH verschmolzen. Herr Tobias agiert auch bei der P3 communications GmbH als Geschäftsführer.
Heute arbeiten bei der P3 etwa 900 Berater und Ingenieure international in Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Großbritannien, Spanien, Indien und den USA. Strukturen wurden bei der P3 Ingenieurgesellschaft und ihren Töchtern immer „der Not gehorchend“ geschaffen und stellen immer eine spannende Herausforderung dar.
