Alastair Treharne

Alastair has a background in business, political and security risk, working on UK and international initiatives across the government and private sector.

Alastair is an expert identity risks advisor to the Cabinet Office, including supporting the delivery of the GOV.UK Verify service. His role includes responsibility for the identity assurance standards relevant to the UK's digital identity initiative; the service's fraud prevention capability; working with civilian, law enforcement and security partners to understand and mitigate the business and technical risks and threats to the identity services.

Alastair has also been working with international partners in the EU, USA, Canada, Israel and Asia relating to identity fraud and cybersecurity. This has included advising United Nations and World Bank; US federal agencies including the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the United States Digital Service, Department for Homeland Security; European Commission eID activities.
