Andrew Hughes
VP of Global Standards, FaceTec

Andrew Hughes

Andrew Hughes has been consulting and working on standardization of digital credentials, face biometric verification, mobile driving licenses, identity and access management, and information security for over 25 years.
Andrew’s primary venues for international collaboration are ISO and the Kantara Initiative. His current priority as VP of Global Standards at FaceTec.com is to standardize how biometric liveness can be used to strongly link a human to their digital credentials. Remote identity verification for digital credential enrolment and presentation is vulnerable unless biometric liveness detection is present.
As the Chair of the Board of Directors at Kantara Initiative, Andrew leads the organization's vision, governance, and outreach. He also chairs the Identity Assurance Work Group and the Deepfake Threats to ID Verification Systems Work Group, where he collaborates with experts and stakeholders from many industry sectors and regions. He regularly speaks at industry events and conferences, sharing his insights and expertise on the latest trends and technologies in the identity and security domain.
