However, these benefits come with some risks and challenges. While the major CSPs (Cloud Service Providers) go to great lengths to secure the infrastructure of their environments it has become clear that many of the cloud security challenges lie with the customers’ own use of these services. An additional concern is the risk of government interference in the operation of the service or demands for access to the data it holds. This concern was recently rekindled with the EU Court of Justice Ruling on the EU-US Privacy Shield.
