Keno Torfs is a Cyber Security Enterprise Architect at BASF, responsible for global strategy, architecture, and governance for Identity and Access Management (IAM). He serves as the domain lead for IAM security architecture, defining standards and target architectures for authentication, authorization, and identity services across the enterprise.
With almost 30 years of professional IT experience, Keno has held multiple senior and management roles across operations and governance, including messaging and collaboration platforms, middleware and SOA, enterprise architecture, and security governance. Since 2016, he has been focused on IAM and cybersecurity, supporting BASF’s transition from legacy IAM platforms to modern, cloud-based and Zero Trust–aligned identity architectures.
His work covers IAM modernization, strong and phishing-resistant authentication, passwordless technologies, external identities, and regulatory-aligned IAM designs for large, multinational organizations. Keno regularly advises stakeholders on IAM as a core security control plane and key enabler for digital business.
