Tim McGrath specializes in the area of Inter-organisational Information Systems, specifically community governance of standards to enable digital transformation through public/private partnerships by promoting technologies that enable trusted exchanges of business information in a global trading environment. Tim is a specialist on eBusiness services focusing on the issues of governance and management of interoperability through the use of open standards. He has worked on several international projects for the EU. Tim has been the vice-chair of the OASIS Universal Language Technical Committee (UBL) and the Bureau Vice Chair to UN/CEFACT responsible for developing a framework for trust, aligning the work plans of UNECE, ISO and UNCITRAL.
He has authored several books including “Document Engineering: Analysing and Designing Documents for Business Informatics and Web Services” from MIT Press (2005).
