Identity and Access Management for Microsoft Azure and SharePoint Online

As Microsoft’s cloud solutions – including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft SharePoint Online – are gaining more market share, integrating these platforms into existing enterprise IAM environments becomes essential. As more and more sensitive corporate data is moved to the cloud, ensuring strong information protection, secure access for employees, partners or customers, and, last but not least, compliance with the stringent regulations like GDPR, is impossible without a unified IAM across all on-premises and cloud systems.
A modern enterprise IAM infrastructure goes far beyond just Single Sign-On, and, when incorporating cloud services like SharePoint Online into a hybrid infrastructure, the resulting solution is expected to provide a broad and consistent spectrum of functionality across existing on-premises and emerging cloud services: Provisioning, Privilege Management or Access Recertification to name just a few. The ultimate goal should be having one integrated IAM infrastructure for the entire hybrid IT environment.
In this KuppingerCole webinar, we are going to discuss the following topics:
- · The need for a unified IAM approach for hybrid IT infrastructures
- · Specifics of connecting to cloud services; potential obstacles and complications
- · Why Cloud IAM is more than just Single Sign-On
- · Implementing IAM for the cloud in general and Microsoft Cloud in particular
In the first part of the webinar, Martin Kuppinger, founder and Principal Analyst at KuppingerCole, will look at the approaches for managing hybrid environments following a unified IAM approach. He will discuss the options and the need for having one IAM at least for your employees. Furthermore, he will look at specific requirements of the Microsoft Cloud.
In the second part, Patrick Parker, founder and CEO of EmpowerID, will dive deeper into the specific challenges of incorporating Microsoft Cloud Services into existing IAM infrastructures and will present an example of a successful project for a large European customer implemented by his company along with several key partners.

As users, devices and application workloads move outside the corporate network, the traditional model of enforcing security at the network perimeter is no longer effective. A Zero Trust model offers an alternative that secures data while ensuring it is accessible to employees, regardless of where they are working. But the path to achieving Zero Trust is unclear for many organizations.
