Onboarding Your Business Partners to Your Services: B2B IAM in Practice
- LANGUAGE: English DATE: Thursday, October 10, 2019 TIME: 4:00pm CEST, 10:00am EDT, 7:00am PDT
Virtually any business needs to grant business partners access to certain IT services. While employee IAM is a well-established discipline, where HR frequently delivers the information about joiners, movers, and leavers, and while Consumer IAM (CIAM) commonly relies on self-registration, B2B IAM comes with different challenges.
There is a variety of ways for onboarding and managing B2B users, from registration by invitation to managed and delegated administration, where either the business partner organization or your business takes the responsibility. There is a need for managing consent, for strong and multi-factor authentication, and for backend integration into a variety of environments. B2B IAM can become rather complex. While employee IAM is challenging due to the granularity of entitlements and the complexity of processes, CIAM is challenging by scale. B2B IAM sits in between and adds the complexity of having a great variety of systems that need to be accessed by the business partners.
In this webinars, we will look at the specific challenges such as
- Multi-leveled delegation of identity and access management for business partners
- Support for different types of registration, from self-managed to registration by invite to managed registration
- MFA and Adaptive Authentication for business partners
- Balancing efficiency for power users with high usability for occasional users
- Consent handling in B2B use cases
In the first part of the webinar, Martin Kuppinger, Principal Analyst at KuppingerCole, will talk about the differences between various use cases for managing identities, from B2E to B2B to B2C. He will look at the high-level requirements for B2B IAM.
In the second part, Marco Venuti of iWelcome will go into the very detail of B2B IAM in Practice and explain how to solve the specific challenges best.

At some point, any business connected to the internet is likely to become a victim of a ransomware because they are relatively easy and inexpensive to carry out, but potentially yield large payouts for cybercriminals. The best way of tackling this threat is to know how to break the attack chain.
