Jacob Mareen is Partner and Founder Belfort Advisory, where he spearheads the firm’s Cyber & Insider Risk practice. With a strong academic foundation, Jacob brings more than a decade of experience helping organisations transform security from a compliance exercise into a strategic business enabler.

At Belfort Advisory, Jacob specialises in identity and access management (IAM), insider-risk management, regulatory readiness, and the integration of legal-forensic services into cyber-risk strategies.

Jacob is known for his ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into actionable recommendations for board-level executives, audit committees and CISOs. He advises organizations on how to embed identity-centric security, and build future-ready organisations resilient to evolving threats and regulations.

Jacob furthermore has a long history at KPMG, where he was a key player in the Belgium and EMEA IAM practice, and at Grant Thornton where he spear-headed the IAM services across the European market.
