Patrick Messerschmidt is the Domain Engineering Lead for Identity & Access Management at Schwarz IT, the digital provider for the Schwarz Group (Europe’s largest retailer). With over 20 years of experience in the IAM sector, he has witnessed and shaped the evolution of digital identity from its early enterprise roots to today’s complex cloud-native architectures. In his current role, Patrick is responsible for the technical vision and platform operations of one of the most demanding IAM ecosystems in the industry. Leveraging two decades of deep technical expertise, he leads the engineering efforts to move beyond traditional vendor constraints, focusing on high-performance, resilient infrastructures that handle 150 million identity-related events per day.
