Dr. Ulrich Herberg is a Senior Director of Engineering and Chief Architect of Identity at eBay, leading the company on all topics related to Identity, such as two-factor authentication, IAM, user management, sign-in, session management etc. He is also the General Manager of a new engineering hub in Berlin, Germany. Prior to eBay, Dr. Herberg spent more than a decade in the Silicon Valley. Among other, he spearheaded the migration of the entire payments platform of Yahoo with a billion dollar yearly revenue to AWS. Dr. Herberg has more than 14 years of experience in Software Architecture and development in areas of cybersecurity, payments, and Identity. Moreover, Dr. Herberg is a standardization expert with 13 published RFCs at the IETF, and a former Working Group chair at the IETF. He also published 28 papers at international conferences and journals as well as 6 patents in the area of computer networking and wireless communication.
