Valentin is a founding partner of Souschef Ventures, Europe's first venture capital fund aiming to foster technology adoption, digitalisation and innovation within the restaurant sector. He is personally interested in identity or cloud solutions for restaurants, bars, delis, etc. Valentin further advises one of Luxembourg’s prime FinTechs Finologee S.A. as a senior legal counsel. Finologee, a digital finance platform, recently launched its KYC manager, a compliance platform for digital client data & risk management for financial industry professionals and institutions.
Valentin shares almost 10 years of experience in or around digital identity. Valentin was General Counsel of yes.com AG, where he designed from the legal perspective their global digital identity ecosystem based on the principles of Open Banking and involving Germany's biggest groups of banks and Europe’s most active trust services providers. He was also Senior Legal Counsel at Klarna Bank AB / Sofort GmbH, where he was responsible for the Open Banking domain and helped to design and develop Klarna’s internal AML-conform digital identity solutions based on a qualified electronic signature + penny-drop transaction.
Valentin was an editor of the GAIN digital trust whitepaper and is part of the OIX Global Interoperability working group.
Outside of his work, Valentin is a mentor for startups, an angel investor and a passionate Judoka.
