Kaliya Young, known as Identity Woman, is a world leading expert and active community builder in user-centric and decentralized identity. Kaliya co-founded the Internet Identity Workshop in 2005, where OpenID Connect and OAuth were created, and the Thoughtful Biometrics Workshop in 2020. She is the founding partner of Identity Woman in Business, a boutique consultancy for decentralized identity. Kaliya was named one of the most influential women in tech by Fast Company Magazine. She is a frequent speaker at flagship identity events and has been active on a range of industry expert groups. Most recently, she joined the advisory board of the Digital Credential for Europe (DC4EU) Consortium. Kaliya had a Master’s Degree in Identity Management and Security from the University of Texas at Austin. She was the author of the Domains of Identity and co-authored Getting Started with Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), the first SSI online course for decision makers.
