As a part of Clyde & Co’s Corporate Insurance and Trade Finance teams, Lukas has a focus on advising clients in all kinds of insurance regulatory and insurance intermediation law matters with a particular focus on digitisation matters and projects. In that regard, he is also actively involved with various initiatives within InsurLab Germany e.V. (a platform to connect the insurance and InsurTech world) in the course of the firm's membership, where he also advises on legal implications of digital insurance.
Lukas regularly advises clients eg in relation to setting up distribution structures, general compliance questions, including insurance competition law advice, and specifics of German insurance supervisory law. On a regular basis, he does so in international projects, coordinating obtaining advice for clients from various jurisdictions. Lukas also advises on product development, for example within the context of new forms of insurance offerings.
Admitted to the Dusseldorf chamber of lawyers, Lukas is admitted to practice in Germany. Previously, he, inter alia, worked with the German Insurance Association, a start-up focusing on the application of machine learning in financial services, and the European Commission. He also served as President of the Oxford Fintech & SmartLaw Society and Student Fellow at the Oxford Foundry, the new entrepreneurial centre for the University of Oxford. In addition, he regularly speaks and publishes on aspects of digitisation in finance.
