AuthZed’s newer Materialize capability (early access) applies database concepts such as materialized views and incremental maintenance to permissions, enabling faster checks and streaming permission updates. Despite strong scalability, flexibility (RBAC and ABAC), IdP-agnostic design, and major cloud integrations, AuthZed must compete in a crowded IAM-adjacent market and invest in customer education while balancing open-source and proprietary priorities.
