Berlin, Germany – May 6, 2024 – The opening day of the European Identity and Cloud Conference (EIC) 2025 wrapped up with a highlight: the announcement of this year’s EIC Award winners, recognizing standout achievements in the digital identity space.
Presented annually by KuppingerCole Analysts, the EIC Awards celebrate projects and organizations that are driving real innovation and impact in identity management. This year’s honors were awarded in two core categories: Enterprise IAM and Digital ID.
Enterprise IAM Award Winner: Stadt Zürich
Stadt Zürich's MIAMI project represents a landmark in public sector identity transformation. By replacing a fragmented IAM legacy with a harmonized Identity Fabric that serves employees, citizens, businesses, and other government entities, Zurich has redefined digital access for modern governance. Built on a unique Private IAM-as-a-Service model, MIAMI combines the power of SailPoint for identity governance and Ping Identity’s intelligent authentication to support secure, role-based, and risk-aware user journeys. The project’s success lies in its ability to address extreme diversity — from police and hospitals to schools and tax services — all while ensuring compliance, automation, and scalability. MIAMI stands out as a blueprint for how cities can unify trust, usability, and digital sovereignty.
Digital ID Award Winner: SRG (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation)
SRG, in collaboration with cidaas and Securix, was awarded in the Digital ID category for delivering a transformative CIAM solution that redefines user access across public media in Switzerland. By combining national identity integration via SwissID, adaptive multi-factor authentication, and cutting-edge features such as device code authentication and ID validation for age-restricted content, SRG provides secure, seamless access for over 2 million users. Its innovative Family & Friends group management capability enables intuitive, privacy-conscious account sharing — a true breakthrough in the broadcasting sector. SRG sets a new benchmark for how public service organizations can lead in digital identity, security, and user-centric design. The award was accepted on their behalf by cidaas.
The EIC Awards shine a spotlight on those who are not only responding to today’s identity challenges - but actively shaping the future of how we define, manage, and protect digital identities.
