As a Lead Advisor at KuppingerCole Analysts AG, Reiner serves as a trusted advisor to clients, in development and assessment of identity and access management strategies, policies, architectures, and solution designs.

Background and Education

Building on his apprenticeship as an IT specialist in application development (IHK), Reiner quickly expanded into roles focused on business development and strategic planning. From early in his career, he has been driven by creating tangible business value for customers—a motivation that continues to guide his work today. His hands-on implementation experience has given him a strong instinct for strategies and architectures that truly deliver results.

Areas of coverage

 Reiner is a versatile generalist with broad expertise across both technical and strategic domains. In his recent roles, he has specialized in the following areas:

• IAM Reference Architecture, Identity Fabric and Target Operating Models for IAM
• IAM Maturity Assessments and Strategy Reviews
• API Security
• IGA Solution Implementations

One of the new areas of interest is IAM for Agents and AI.

Professional Experience

Reiner has worked in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) field for nearly 20 years. He began his career as a developer and later moved into roles such as Solution Designer, Architect, Lead Consultant, and Freelancer, gaining experience both in consulting and on the customer side. Over the years, he has delivered a broad range of implementation and strategic architecture projects for large enterprises in industries including telecommunications, insurance, banking and finance, steel, automotive, and energy. Lately he worked as IAM Advisor. He has also spoken at conferences on IGA implementation strategies, sharing practical insights drawn from real-world project experience.
