Prof. Wolfgang Prinz

Prof. Wolfgang Prinz, PhD studied Computer Science at the University of Bonn and received his PhD from the University of Nottingham. Since 2001, he has been a Professor at RWTH Aachen University and, as Deputy Director at Fraunhofer FIT, heads the Cooperation Systems department, where projects address the challenges and opportunities of digitalization through cooperation platforms, mixed reality, and flexible communication infrastructures. He co-founded the Fraunhofer Blockchain Lab and led the Blockchain Reallabor Rheinisches Revier, working on blockchain/ Web3-based applications, and decentralized identity solutions. He now also heads techHAUS, a technology-open digital transformation lab for the Rheinisches Revier region, extending this work beyond blockchain to a broader range of digital technologies addressing regional structural change.
