Prof. Alessandro Musumeci

Alessandro has been the Central Director of the information systems in the Italian State Railways (Ferrovie dello Stato) since 2008.

Executive Director since 1989 covered roles either as technological manager (for instance from 1990 to 1995 as manager of the software's methodology and engineering at the Andersen Consulting of Rome) or as a coordinator for the production of complex information systems (for example on behalf of the University of Naples or the Ministry of Justice), head of organizations of large dimensions both in the national and international field.

From March 2002 to September 2006 he has been the General Director of the information systems of the Ministry of Education, University and Research and subsequently of the specialized directorate of the information systems of Milan's Municipality, dealing also with the editing of the technological brochure for Expo 2015.

From June 2006 to June 2010 he was the president of the Italian Federation of Directors in computerized firms (FIDA Inform), in which are associated around 1000 directors of information systems and 10 territorial clubs (Turin, Genoa, Milan, Padua, Bologna, Ancona, Perugia, Rome, Bari and Naples).

He is a lecturer for information systems in the University of Rome "La Sapienza" under the faculty of computer engineering he carried out courses also in the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and the University of Cagliari in the field of Software Engineering. He is also a journalist and publicist from 1991, publishing more than 400 articles.
