Vice President AI, Data and Cyber Security at Mercedes-Benz Group AG
Since April 2020, Daniel Eitler has been leading the global Cyber Security & Digital Identity organization of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. In this role, he is responsible for end-to-end Cyber Security Governance & Enablement, Digital Identities/IAM, and global Detection & Response capabilities across Stuttgart, Toronto and Singapore.
Building on this foundation, since last year Daniel serves as the Vice President AI, Data and Cyber Security at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. In this position, he leads the global strategy for artificial intelligence, data management and cyber security, ensuring that innovation, resilience and responsible digital transformation go hand in hand.
Before joining Mercedes-Benz, Daniel worked at BMW Group from 2012 to 2021, where he held several management roles including IT Innovation & Performance Management. In 2017, he became “Head of Cyber Security”, developing and implementing BMW’s comprehensive Cyber Security strategy and steering the transformation toward agile, DevOps-driven IT delivery.
Daniel began his career in consulting at Accenture and Oliver Wyman, managing corporate strategy programs and large-scale IT initiatives across industries such as telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing and retail — covering IT strategy, transformation, software engineering and operations.
He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich (2006) and an MBA from Mannheim Business School (2012), including international study terms in Toronto and New York City. Daniel is an active member contributing to the cyber security community, including his involvement in the “Cyber Security Sharing & Analytics (CSSA) e. V.”.
Daniel is a proud father of twin daughters and spends his free time doing sports — preferably triathlons and a variety of mountain activities in the Alps.
