Dr. Lukas Ruf is a cybersecurity expert and business leader with over two decades of experience in IT security, strategy, and risk management. Currently, he serves as the Group CISO and Head of Group Architecture, Security & Risk at Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund in Zurich, Switzerland, a position he has held since July 2020. In this role, he oversees the strategic direction of cybersecurity, architecture, and risk management for one of Switzerland's largest retail and service organizations.
In 2007, Dr. Ruf founded Consecom AG, a consultancy specializing in ICT security and strategy, where he continues to serve as CEO. He has been instrumental in providing expertise in areas such as cybersecurity strategy, enterprise security architecture, penetration testing, cloud computing, and privacy compliance.
Beyond Consecom, Dr. Ruf founded and led scanmeter GmbH, a company delivering "Cyber Security Assessments as a Service," until October 2020. He also contributes his expertise as a Non-Executive Board Member and Advisor for the company.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Ruf held roles as a senior security consultant with In&Out AG and worked as a security architect for large-scale web applications. His academic contributions include serving as a lecturer in Internet Security at the Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil.
Dr. Ruf holds a PhD in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich. He is actively engaged in professional communities, including IEEE and ACM.
