Identity Fabrics Legacy Transition

TRACK
Thursday, May 11, 2023 11:00—13:00
Location: B 05

As digital identities become increasingly important in the modern IT landscape, decentralized identity solutions are gaining popularity. This conference track will explore the potential of utilizing decentralized identity approaches within the enterprise. Attendees will learn about the business benefits of decentralized identity, the steps involved in implementing it, important considerations, challenges, pitfalls, and recommendations.

The track will cover a hybrid approach to classic IAM for workforce management, including W3C native credential integration with solidified and well-established SSO federations. In other words, attendees will learn how to delegate the choice of which identity technology to use to end-users, as long as they can provide a trust chain that companies can verify. The session will also look at the potential of decentralized identity and how it will impact existing technologies such as IGA, PAM, and Access Management. The session will outline where interoperability and standards must further evolve to enable organizations to reinvent their IAM without ripping everything apart.

Finally, the track will dive into the decentralized lake of innovation, new standards, products, vendors, and start-ups to find out how to benefit from DIDs in the enterprise. Attendees will participate in a panel session to discuss the way forward for workforce identity. They will explore interoperability models and how a longer-term migration scenario could look like, and Identity Workflow Orchestration. The panel will discuss whether IAM needs to change fundamentally, whether it's about ripping and replacing IAM and IGA, or about complementing them.
