Identity and Data Protection: Clearing up a Cloudy World with Open Standards
- TYPE: Keynote DATE: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 TIME: 14:00-14:30 LOCATION: Auditorium
Ubiquitous Internet service and smart-devices richly enhance our lives -- and the risk of personal data being mislaid, misused or misrepresented. How to use 21st Century e-Identity, without getting e-ripped off?
Luckily, there are ways to address those risks, and still enjoy the benefits of a connected information society. Many of the issues posed by widespread "cloud" computing already are solved by open standards, for security, privacy, sign-ons and federation. Auditable, testable, vendor-neutral open methods exist; and more are being developed. Now, citizens, businesses and governments must demand them.
