Establishing Trust Through Standards, Governance and Legislation

Whilst the economic case for greater adoption of digital identity is clear, widespread adoption of digital identity products and services by consumers and businesses has not yet been seen in many countries around the world – including the United Kingdom. 

In this session, John Peart, representing the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, will showcase the UK’s technology-agnostic, standards-based approach. The session will explore how this approach, rooted in clear standards and effective governance, underpinned by legislation, is starting to address this challenge; meaningfully driving adoption, growing the market for digital identity, and building trust.
