Artificial intelligence has often been recognized as a central element for innovation and growth. But in Europe in particular, the speed of innovation seems to lag behind China and the US, for example. The reason for this is partly seen in the EU GDPR. 

However, despite justified criticism, the GDPR has a great deal of potential to use AI sustainably as a driver of innovation. 
Rights of the affected parties, Privacy Impact Assessments, pseudonymisation, etc.: In her lecture, lawyer and senior privacy consultant Kathrin Schürmann clarifies about the legal challenges and possibilities towards the use of AI - despite the GDPR.
