This presentation provides an in-depth look at the implementation of a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution for the City of Zurich. The MIAMI (Modern Identity & Access Management Infrastructure) project marks a major step forward in the City of Zurich’s digital transformation. Designed to unify a fragmented legacy landscape, MIAMI delivers a scalable Identity Fabric that covers all audiences ranging from G2x (CIAM for citizens, business and government) and B2x (EIAM): the new service securely connects internal staff, service accounts, citizens, businesses, and government partners. Delivered by iC Consult, built on SailPoint IIQ and Ping Identity, and deployed as a Private IAM-as-a-Service solution with Service Layers based on Zurich’s container platform, the solution stands out through its automation, flexibility, and compliance readiness. With over 35.000 internal identities and hundreds of thousands of external users, MIAMI sets a new standard for public sector IAM.
