EUDI-Wallets: A Practical Demonstration Of Use Cases

In this session practical use cases of the EUDI-Wallet for the financial sector and government services are presented. The presentation demonstrates the user flow and highlights aspects organisations need to be aware of when integrating their own use cases. The wallet used for the demonstration is part of two EUDI-Wallet large scale pilots as well as the German EUDI-Wallet project.

The Implementing Act 2024/2979 regarding the integrity and core functionalities of European Digital Identity Wallets mandates the Cloud Signature Consortium (CSC) API v2 for signature creation applications used by wallet units.
This session will shed light on signing scenarios for EUDI Wallet that can be implemented based on CSC specifications.
Mobile Digital Identity Of The Far East: Situation Of Japan

Many countries are currently implementing mDL or other forms of mobile digital identity, often using ID wallets. However, almost half of Japanese citizens have been already able to use their smartphone as a mobile digital identity since 2023. The mobile digital identity has been already used for both public and private sectors, and the citizens can use for various use cases.
Furthermore, the Japanese government is planning to start issuing mdoc format national digital identity to iPhone users in 2025.
This session introduces how Japanese digital identity has been evolved to be able to use on the smartphones, and explores how it is different from mobile digital identity of the reset of the world.
