Artificial Intelligence is set to revolutionise how mobile Operators will run their networks, and in particular has the ability to boost performance, improve robustness & security, enhance customer experience, and reduce costs.

The aim of this presentation will be to expand on the ways that Operators are already using AI (and more specifically Machine Learning), the future evolution of AI usage in mobile networks, the standards efforts ongoing to provide the necessary enablers for network automation & efficient use of spectrum, how Operators will need to evolve to fully embrace and harness this new transformative technology and associated considerations around regulation, ethics and code of conduct.
The presentation will also touch on monetisation opportunities - leveraging the vast pools of data collated by Operators in the daily operation of the network for deriving insights, e.g., for mitigating fraud.

Key Takeaways:

AI/ML will play a transformative role in the future evolution of mobile networks and customer experience
Efforts are ongoing to harness the power of this transformative technology, both through pilots and standards
Given the myriad of ways in which AI could be leveraged within the network, there are a multitude of commercial opportunities
But equally, there are many challenges that will need to be addressed (technical, regulatory, skillset shortage etc.)
