This talk will show that the aim of user-centric identity management to place the user in control of his personal data is an illusion. Stakeholders such as companies, authorities as well as attackers have a too strong interest in user specific profiles and context information. So, they usually have their very own view on what "user-centric" means.
However, there is concepts like privacy-enhanced personalisation which can help to enable the user to protect his privacy in specific situations. The second part of this talk, thus, will introduce some practical methods for user-centric identity management from an end-user's point of view.
Will user-centric identity management eventually replace "corporation-centric" identity management? What exactly are the relations between those two totally diverse paradigms and what relevance do they have for telcos? Jörg Heuer from Deutsche Telekom Labs will propose answers to these questions, which are becoming vital not only for telcos.
