"Che cosa sono le nuvole?” (What are the clouds?)
- TYPE: Keynote DATE: Tuesday, April 17, 2012 TIME: 14:40-15:00 LOCATION: Auditorium
“Che cosa sono le nuvole?” is one of the six episodes of "Capriccio a'italiana" (Caprice the Italian way - 1967) directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. A group of puppets play Shakespeare's Othello when the angry spectators go on stage to tear Othello and Iago apart. The garbage man disposes of them in a dump where the two puppets admire the clouds stupefied. Actually clouds in the sky are the most known example of the psychological tendency to perceive vague and random stimuli as significant. Seeing faces in clouds is not only a common psychological phenomenon, but it is also a good metaphor of all complexities and nuances of digital identity in the cloud. There is a huge literature on digital identity, I will focus on a specific aspect, say, the way in which digital identity is progressively creating a new golden standard for the age of electronic money.
