Breakout Session: After Privacy Shield's Death: What Is Still Possible?
- TYPE: Roundtable DATE: Wednesday, October 21, 2020 TIME: 16:20-17:00
With the July 2020 decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union, the „Privacy Shield“ called framework that allowed personal information to be transferred between the EUC and the US; had been invalidated with immediate effect. The only remaining justification to keep on exchanging such information has been the „Standard Contractual Clauses“ (SCC), although they do not fully replace the Privacy Shield. Therefore, the questions now are:
- Where do Standard Contractual Clauses come into the game?
- Can SCC fully replace the Privacy Shield?
- Are there alternatives?
- Do I need to perform an immediate risk assessment?
This breakout session following the Keynote of Dr. Karsten Kinast, LL.M and KuppingerCole´s CEO Berthold Kerl offers you a great opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts in the field and discuss the topic with peers.
