A self-sovereign identity world is fast approaching. The use of distributed ledgers to manage and control decentralized identities will inevitably replace the traditional approach of centrally storing and managing identities and customer data. With numerous blockchain use-cases awaiting to onboard decentralized identities, there are implications associated with the use of decentralized identities that need to be carefully evaluated and addressed.

In this session, we discuss opportunities and risks of using blockchain for managing identities and present KuppingerCole’s Blockchain Governance (KBG)© model to help regulate the blockchain identity eco-system.
