A Blockchain Approach to Digital Identity: Building an Ecosystem

SecureKey is working closely with a consortium of leading Canadian organizations, including financial institutions, telcos, credit unions, government agencies and many more, to create a digital identity ecosystem that will change the way consumers validate their identity online. The ecosystem will put consumers back in control of their own identities and allow them to selectively and securely share their information. Consumers will be able to leverage their existing relationships with trusted providers such as banks, governments and telcos, to connect to critical online services using a credential they already have and trust. Simpler and safer authentication begins now.

This session will focus on how working directly with leading organizations across many industries to create a blockchain-based digital identity ecosystem will set a new standard of what a secure, personal online presence can be. The session will showcase the current flaws in how personal information is stored and used today, and how blockchain technology can fundamentally remedy these issues and prevent sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. The goal of this session is to educate people on what our digital identity ecosystem is capable of and how it will make identity verification stronger, make the exchange of data more efficient and secure and, most importantly, let consumers have total control of their digital identities.
