Transforming Public Services with Attribute Exchange

Combined Session
Thursday, May 12, 2016 12:00—13:00
Location: AMMERSEE I

UK local authorities are moving to digital service delivery to improve customer service and make significant cost savings. Identity assurance and attribute provision are key tools to unlock the full potential of digital and transform the way services are delivered to citizens.

This presentation will show how UK local and central government are collaborating to develop effective ways of sharing personal data attributes to make public services more streamlined and easier for citizens to use.

Taking Warwickshire County Council as a case study, the presentation will show how a typical local government service - applying for a parking permit for the disabled (a Blue Badge) - can be delivered in minutes rather than weeks using identity assurance and attribute provision. The presentation will conclude by looking forward to the future of citizen services and the huge cost savings associated with such a programme, both in the public and private sectors.
