Vendor Report: Passlogix
Passlogix is a software vendor which started in the field of E-SSO (Enterprise Single Sign-On) in 1996 and established itself as one of the leading vendors in that particular segment. The company has a significant direct and partner sales channel. In addition, Passlogix has built on the OEM channel. Oracle is still an OEM of Passlogix, but Passlogix is doing the major part of its business with end customers and through other channels, including solution providers and technology partners.
Passlogix has expanded its portfolio amongst the core E-SSO solutions but with tight integration of new solutions to E-SSO and always around authentication. Thus, Passlogix is still a niche player with specific skills as a vendor of an integrated portfolio of solutions around authentication, including sign-on.
Like mentioned above, Passlogix has built a set of products around its core offering for E-SSO. That is a valid strategy which enables Passlogix to play a role as a strategic vendor around sign-on and authentication. Even while there are some features to add like the expanded platform support of the v-GO UAM product (with the Windows 7 version to be released late summer 2010) or additional features for its PAM (Privileged Access Management) functionality, Passlogix has an interesting suite of products which can become the cornerstone of authentication approaches within organizations.
For the markets covered, we rate Passlogix amongst the leading-edge providers, especially with focus on the E-SSO technology. In that area, the integration of different products into v-GO SSO provides a significant benefit to customers and strengthens the competitive positioning of v-GO SSO. The company has a large established customer base and operates in growing market segments. We strongly recommend organizations to evaluate Passlogix products when looking at the business cases mentioned above.
