John Horn

John Horn leads the Cybersecurity practice at Datos Insights, which provides valuable cybersecurity and identity research, insights, and advisory services to financial services firms. In addition to leading a team of Strategic Advisors, John functions as a distinguished industry expert and critical thinker within the rapidly evolving domains of identity, cybersecurity, and risk. His coverage areas include identity security, identity and access management, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA), passkeys, workforce and customer access modernization, GRC, third-party risk management, converged data intelligence, data consortiums, API security, and best practices for the chief information security officer/board.  

John brings to Datos Insights over two decades of cybersecurity and digital identity leadership within financial services. Prior to joining Datos Insights, John spent 24 years leading security and identity strategies at Fiserv, which including serving as founder of SecureNow, a cybersecurity business delivering real-time risk decisioning and defense against cyberattacks for 300 financial institutions in the U.S. He designed enterprise-wide security solutions for financial institutions while providing trusted consultancy to chief information security officers, chief information officers, chief technology officers, and chief digital officers. Earlier in his career, John honorably served within the U.S. Navy. 

John holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and a B.Sc. in Systems Analysis from Miami University (Ohio).

John is happily married with two adults daughters and lives in the Columbus, Ohio area.
