Microservice & Identity Boot Camp
The Power of Microservice Paradigms to Accelerate Complex IT Solutions
- TYPE: Boot Camp DATE: May 17, 2019 TIME: 09:00-16:00

Microservices are a software architectural style that is gaining worldwide momentum today. Loosely coupled, highly maintainable, and allowing to be tested and deployed independently, microservices blend well with current agile DevOps methodologies.
Identity & Access Management solutions delivered as microservices bring new options for your deployment model which can reduce IAM complexity while increasing scalability.
This boot camp will better equip IT professionals, CIOs, CISOs, and IAM architects to address the challenges of:
- Communicating what microservices are and how they can benefit the IT organization;
- Understanding microservice architectural best practices;
- How IAM solutions are being delivered and deployed to microservices in the market today;
- Assessing common IAM microservice risks and how best to mitigate them;
- How to build your own IAM microservice strategy.
We’ll start with the infrastructure foundation of microservices apps: containers and orchestration with Kubernetes; APIs as the language of internal communications; scalability, availability and security fundamentals. The crucial role of identity and access management in distributed application architectures and approaches towards reducing authorization overhead. Understanding the divide between traditional monolithic IAM deployments and expectations and requirements of modern development methodologies.
In the second part of the boot camp, we’ll dive deeper into the application of DevOps and microservices to IAM to dramatically reduce complexity and improve the flexibility of next-generation IAM solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud. Learn about protocols and specifications that support Microservices architecture to build DevOps-ready IAM for large-scale enterprises operating in multiple geographies. Find out how to avoid making the choice between agility and security.

KuppingerCole Boot Camps
KuppingerCole Bootcamps are far from being standard training courses, but rather offer a multifaceted blend of collaboration, enablement, and knowledge transfer.
KuppingerCole Analysts organize various bootcamps where you can keep yourself informed about the latest techniques and trends in identity management, cloud access and security. Bootcamps are more informative than other presentation formats. It offers intense interaction possibilities, is dense with new information and is a perfect medium to equip attendees with practical skills and confidence in a specific subject by sharing experiences, learning new skills and techniques.
KuppingerCole's top analysts give a foundational overview of basic knowledge and work together with the participants to develop core requirements and selection criteria. They present architecture and procedural models for real-life organizations. This presumes the fact that many IT services and architecture components are still on premises.
KuppingerCole has developed a range of methodologies in its advisory practice that quickly lead decision-makers and leaders to sound and actionable results. These 6C methodologies are building blocks for the KuppingerCole Digital Compasses. Consequently, they are used as tools for the efficient attainment of results in our BootCamps as well. Use them afterward in your daily practice, for example, to identify relevant aspects of a hot topic with the “Choose” method and to get to optimal decisions from a variety of alternatives in your particular context with the “Compare” method.
