Mike Davies is Marketing Director for VeriSign in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Davies joined VeriSign from Visa Europe, where he was marketing network services to Visa member banks. Previously, he was at Thales, where he helped lead the rollout of Smart cards primarily into the financial a government sectors. Whilst at Thales, Davies acted as vice chair of the Marketing Committee of GlobalPlatform, an industry body setting standards for multi application smart cards.

Davies' involvement with cryptography dates back to his experience working in the technology arm of the Royal Mail as part of the Emerging Technologies division, where he was responsible for taking PKI and SSL solutions to market.
