Vendor Report: Symplified - 70121

Securant Technology was a visionary vendor which created the web access management niche in the mid 1990’s. When that company was acquired by RSA, its management team immediately began thinking about what would come next. From that brain-storming emerged Symplified.

Symplified was envisioned and built to be the identity service for the cloud-based computing platform that was beginning to emerge in the early years of the 21st century. Initially this was supposed to be a pure-play cloud strategy – nothing would be installed on-premises. Since the market wasn’t quite ready for that leap of faith into the new technology and the reality of IT within most organizations appears to be hybrid for the foreseeable time, the company adapted and added on-premises support to their cloud-based strategy.

The company’s products were designed to offer what might be considered “traditional“ Identity Management services (authentication, authorization, single sign-on, governance, regulatory compliance, etc.) for both Cloud Service Providers and x-as-a-Service users.

Their latest offering is the Symplified Mobile Edition™ to connect mobile users (smart phones, tablets, etc.) to cloud based and on-premise services and applications with no client software needed.

As more services and applications move to the cloud, Symplified continues to increase in relevance. We can recommend that both cloud-providers and cloud-users in need of integrated identity man-agement should further investigate the offerings from Symplified.
