Vendor Report: SecureAuth Corporation - 70260

SecureAuth is a single-product vendor. The product SecureAuth IEP is a platform for a strong two-factor authentication based on X.509v3 certificates for web-based applications, federated environ-ments based on SAML, and VPNs. It is deployed as appliance (hard or soft) and provided as well in cloud deployments based on Amazon EC2 and by Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Beyond the support of strong authentication the product supports different SSO (Single Sign-On) scenarios, federation support, and basic web access management capabilities. It supports many applications out-of-the-box, as well as different types of VPNs. The configuration is flexible and easy.

The product is simple to use and manage. The logistics costs are significantly below two-factor authentication based on hard tokens and the management is considerably easier than in typical PKI environments. However there might be limitations regarding the supported applications (web-based applications, federated applications, and VPNs) and the required authentication strength of the approach using only X.509 v3 certificates which aren’t stored in separate hardware devices.

Overall, we strongly recommend to include the product in evaluations for strong authentication ap-proaches for internal and external applications, especially when simple, lightweight but yet secure approaches are required. Beyond that, the product supports advanced identity services like the generation of SAML tokens which allow flexible SSO with applications that support federation concepts.
