Fischer International differentiates itself from other vendors in the IAM market space especially through its strong focus on providing “Cloud Services” through a SaaS solution for the core functions of Identity Management. Unlike most others, Fischer International built its product completely around that particular approach. This brings specific technical advantages as far as multi-tenancy and connector architectures are concerned. It also affects configuration and management which tend to be more difficult to implement for products originally built for on-premise deployments.
Having said this, it is worth noting that this particular product actually can be (and often is) run on-premise as well, depending on what the organization wants and needs. Fischer International in fact offers its customers full choice of how they want to deploy their IAM solution, either “classical” on-premise, as an internal cloud solution, or externally as a SaaS-based service for IAM and Access Gov-ernance.
In our estimation, Fischer International has a very interesting offering which translates into a truly unique selling proposition in the IAM market. They have achieved this not by trying to provide the solution with the most features but by focusing on a configuration-based approach for Identity and Access Management which avoids programming and thus supports simple and rapid deployments, as well as by betting on the increasing demand for deployment models that go beyond classical on-premise deployments. Fischer International provides strong functionality and interesting customiza-tion capabilities. However, its biggest strength is undoubtedly their focus on SaaS deployments. These are relevant not only for customers looking for an external Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) for IAM but also for large organizations as well as for professional MSSPs themselves.
